Carl H. Geiger of Lake in the Hills passed away unexpectedly on January 20. Born on March 30,1957 to John H. Geiger and Vivienne (DeBaets) Geiger, he grew up in Des Plaines Illinois. Carl graduated from Maine West High School Class of 1975. He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman, always a perfectionist. His clients and family members trusted him many times over the years for projects. His interests were caring for turtles and aviation. Since childhood he enjoyed wildlife and nature. He was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 790, and attended the EAA event in Oshkosh yearly. He created exquisite models of planes, and built a good part of an actual plane in his basement.
He is survived by his siblings, Ellen (Michael) Rosborough, Vivienne (Kent) Hildebrand, Lois Bruffey, Laura (Paul) Widhalm, and Jack (Carol) Geiger, and ten fond nieces and nephews.
Carl was the tall quiet man on the side of the room, enjoying the conversation. His family will have a celebration of Carl’s life at a later date.
