Dorothy Reo (Butts) Vaden 1940 - 2020
Dorothy Reo (Butts) Vaden, 80, went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2020 at her daughter’s home, with family at her side. Dorothy was born March 14 1940, in Wynne, AR. to Charlie Lamar and Alta Reo (Bell) Butts. Dorothy married her sweetheart, John Louis Vaden in Togo, AR. They celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 6th.
First and foremost, Dorothy loved Jesus Christ. Dorothy was a member of the Church of God in Carpentersville, Il for many years prior to retiring to Mountain Home, AR., where she and her husband became members of the Church of God in Mountain Home. Dorothy could often be found reading her bible or singing one of her favorite church hymns. She enjoyed sharing her first love, Jesus Christ with her children and all those that she loved. Dorothy also dedicated her time to being a loving mother and homemaker. She created fond memories of holidays and birthdays for her family with delicious food and festive decorations. She loved flowers, plants and all things nature. Dorothy was a homebody and was known for her shy, gentle temperament. She was loved and respected by all who came to know her and will be sorely missed.
Dorothy was a loving mother to her three children Randall Vaden, Dana Vanderheyden (George), Tammy Bland (Steve). Blessed with six grandchildren Amanda (Williams) Kenney (Sean), Samantha (Williams) Ludwig (Dylan), Jonathan Williams, Nicholas Williams, Christian Bland and Zachary Bland. Grateful for her three great grandchildren Jackson Kenney, Alexa Kenney and Casey Kenney. Her two siblings Oliver Butts, Lavada (Butts) Kimble (Jerry) and numerous nieces and nephews along with extended family and cherished friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved parents, her siblings Maudie Marie, Virginia May, Dexter Truman, Betty Jo and son-in-law, Larry Williams.
A private memorial will be held at her daughter Tammy’s home on Sunday 9/27/2020. A celebration of life memorial will be held next month in AR. Details will follow.
