Gary Weaver Randall, 69, of Crystal Lake, IL, embarked on his next great adventure on March 2nd, 2025.
A proud father and grandfather. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. A Veteran of the US Army, Gary served in the Caisson Detachment of the U.S. Army’s 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). A man of many talents and trades, he wore many hats throughout his life – from DJing weddings in church basements to laying the very floors we walk on, and a whole lot in between. He was a true jack-of-all-trades, always ready with a helping hand and a quick wit. When he wasn't turning his hand to some new project, he could be found happily tinkering with his beloved tractors, coaxing life from his garden, or cheering on his Chicago Bears during Sunday football.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in his children: Michele (John) Schweer, Josh Randall (Lisa Paolantonio), Caleb Randall, Brandon Randall, and Blake (Jacqueline) Randall. His spirit lives on in his grandchildren: Braden and Trevor Schweer; Ainsley Randall (Mother, Erin Randall); and Corbin, Nessa, and Julian Randall (Mother, Magan Watson). He is also survived by his siblings Edwin Randall Jr., Enid (John) Moorhead, Bruce (Donna) Randall, Eva (Homer) Krauss, and Sandra (Todd, deceased) Reinhard, and stepmother Gertrude (Lynn) Randall.
Gary was preceded in death by his biological parents, Edwin Randall and Marie (Clark) Nichols, and his siblings, Clarence Randall and Cheryl Nichols.
Gary shared his life's journey with Aimee Lange (Mother of Michele, Josh, and Caleb) and Wendy Baker (Mother of Brandon and Blake).
A Celebration of Life, filled with stories and memories, will be held on Saturday March 8th 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St, Marengo, IL 60152. Visitation will begin at 1 PM, followed by a service at 2 PM. Dessert and refreshments – because Gary always appreciated a good sweet treat – will be served after the service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Gary's memory are encouraged to make a donation to Gary Sinise Foundation, The Veterans Foundation of Illinois or Operation Wild Horse https://linktr.ee/gwrcharity
