Gerald Richard Sutor

Gerald Richard Sutor, age 89, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was known for his love of dancing and for playing pinochle and cards with his family and friends. Gerald was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine Florence Sutor (née Betonti), with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; his parents, Anna and Stan Sutor; his father-in-law, Samuel J. Betonti; and his mother-in-law, Regina Betonti.

He was the loving father of Peter Sutor (Debbie), Daryl Sutor, Susan Nigro (Ken), Mark Sutor (Joann), and Sandra Trebnik (Rob). Gerald was a proud and loving grandfather to Katherine Sutor; Anna Kapp (Remi); Michael Sutor (Emily); Tyler Sutor; Sophia Nigro; Jason Nigro; Zachary Sutor; Patricia Sutor; Robert Trebnik; Elizabeth Trebnik; James Trebnik; and Benjamin Trebnik. He was also a cherished great grandfather to Liam and Aiden Kapp. He was the brother of the late Stan Sutor (late Carol), Nancy Kuhl (late Tom), and Fran Shantz (late Tom).

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Rd, Huntley, IL 60142, with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.
